I have been inspired by so many beautiful natural places on this earth in my vast travels, and try to interpret them into one of a kind wearable art to be cherished for years. I started designing in the 80's when my husband and I visited an atoll in the Pacific where they grew Tahitian pearls and we were given several. We also dove up up pearl shells and started designing jewelry around them. I then visited Australia and found topazes, opals and other gemstones mined there that I incorporated into my jewelry.
When I settled on St. Croix, USVI, I found numerous old pottery shards around the sugar plantations from the 1700's and incorporated them into my jewelry. I still love to include a bit of history into some special pieces. I have since settled in Florida and have a studio on the Treasure Coast, aptly named for all the old wrecks located along our shores. I am an Art Clay Senior instructor and certified in PMC and teach jewelry design, Enamel, and the various metal clays to artists and eager students who want to enlarge their creative world. I continue designing and creating one of a kind gold and silver jewelry. |
